The 26-year-old driver of a Mercedes who police saw driving recklessly and doing burnouts on the road Friday evening was arrested a short time later on gun charges. 

At 5:54 p.m. Officer Jeffery Godfrey saw a white Mercedes Benz at Herndon Avenue and Evans Road doing a burnout and driving recklessly. Officer Godfrey caught up to the car and stopped the driver in the 1300 block of Hatch Road. Driver Antonio Ochoa Vasquez, 26, of Modesto was found to be unlicensed. A search of the car turned up a concealed firearm.

Vasquez was arrested for carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
