Driver who was stopped found with warrant, cocaine

A 29-year-old Ceres man who was pulled over in his Tesla Model X for vehicle code violations on Wednesday afternoon, April 12, was arrested after it was learned he was wanted on a prior felony and also possessed a small amount of cocaine.

At 12:06 p.m., Sergeant Bryan Ferreira was working traffic enforcement in the area of Blaker and Kinser roads when he stopped Max Perez Mendez, 29, of Ceres. Mendez had a felony warrant for his arrest for the negligent discharge of a firearm. A search of his car revealed a small amount of cocaine.

Mendez was booked at the Public Safety Center for the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.
