The driver of a silver-colored 2006 Mitsubishi Gallant was arrested Saturday, June 13, after a solo crash in the 3900 block of Mitchell Road that was believed to be alcohol related.
At 7:10 p.m. callers to 911 reported the crash as the car was going from northbound on Rhode Road onto Mitchell Road. Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber said that Nick Del Alto, 38, of Ceres, drove off the road, hit a mound of dirt and rolled the Mitsubishi. Del Alto was seen running from the crash and described as wearing a black tank top and plaid shorts. Officer found Del Alto leaning against a pillar of Farmer Boys restaurant. As the officer approached, the suspect tried to duck out of view. When the officer made contact, Del Alto said the car belonged to his girlfriend and the car flipped over and he passed out. Because the odor or alcohol was on his breath, Del Alto was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
