Josh Torrez, 23, of Modesto, was arrested on drug charges by police after someone reported him lurking behind the abandoned Jenny's Family Dining building at 1515 Herndon Ave.

The call came in at 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. After finding Torrez hiding in the bushes, he was searched and his backpack yielded hypodermic syringes, prescription medication and black tar heroin.

He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation.
