A defective light on a motorcycle prompted police to pull over a 24-year-old Ceres man who was in possession of drugs on Wednesday.

James Gregory Garcia was also booked on charges of driving on a suspended license and for having expired registration on his motorcycle.

Garcia was riding a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle in the 3900 block of Central Avenue at 9:33 p.m. when he was observed. His license was suspended and a search turned up a plastic baggie containing crystal methamphetamine in his pant pocket. Garcia was charged with possession of narcotics, driving on a suspended license and driving a motorcycle with expired tags.
