An early Monday traffic stop made in the area of Whitmore and Central avenues led to a drug arrest and Norman Haynes, 49, of Ceres, being jailed.

At 3:28 a.m., Officer Matt Berlier stopped Haynes in his car and learned that he is on probation and can be searched for drugs. The officer found seven grams of suspected methamphetamine in the car as well as a portable scale and baggies stored inside of a duffel bag.

Haynes was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and probation violation.
