A Modesto man faces charges of drunken driving following his arrest early Monday morning.

At 2:19 a.m. on Monday Officer Brian Peterson stopped Modesto driver Eduardo Mackan, 53, for driving on the wrong side of the road in the area of South Ninth Street and Highway 99. Mackan failed a field sobriety test and blew 0.19 and 0.20 blood alcohol content readings in the breathalyzer. The amount is nearly three times over the legal limit.

Mackan, who was also an unlicensed driver, had his car impounded.
