Nicolas Castillo, 26, of Modesto, was arrested Saturday evening after he allegedly crashed into vehicles at separate locations while driving drunk.

At 5:39 p.m. police were dispatched to 2205 Rose Avenue where a green 1990's Chevy Blazer sustained front-end damage and then drove southbound Rose Avenue crossing Whitmore Avenue. As officers rolled to the scene, calls poured into the Police Dispatch Center about the same vehicle colliding with parked vehicles in front of 1646 Vineland Lane. The driver bailed on foot and ran northbound on Vineland and then westbound on Alphonse Drive.

Officer Jesus Salinas surveyed the scene and found six vehicles with minor to moderate damage. The chain-link fence around the home was completely damaged as was the garage door.

Officer Vince Hooper located the suspect hiding in the backyard of 2904 Alphonse Drive. Castillo was extremely intoxicated to the point of vomiting. Due to his extreme intoxication Castillo was unable to perform filed sobriety test. Paramedics were called to take him to Doctors Medical Center where officers had staff took evidentiary blood draw for a DUI investigation.

After treatment, Castillo was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of hit and run, DUI, and driving on a suspended license.
