A 22-year-old Modesto man was cited for misdemeanor DUI and released at Doctors Medical Center after he ran his car into a Storer bus in Ceres early Sunday.

Police were dispatched at 2:30 a.m. to the area of Hatch and Stonum roads for a report of an injury collision involving a white Mitsubishi Lancer sedan and a Storer bus. Officer Scott Faure located the Mitsubishi driver, Miguel Angel Ortega of Modesto who was unconscious in the driver’s seat. He appeared to be intoxicated. When questioned if he had been drinking alcohol, he replied, “Have you been drinking?,” refused to answer any questions and became argumentative. Ortega was uncooperative and would not submit to field sobriety test or an evidentiary blood or breath sample. Officer Faure authored a warrant for a blood draw which was conducted by nursing staff at Doctors Medical Center.

The Storer bus was only occupied by the driver who was not seriously injured. The bus sustained minor damage.
