A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy located a drunken driving suspect Friday afternoon before Ceres Police could get to the location.

At 6:35 p.m., Officer Charles Rushing was dispatched to the area of Herndon and Hatch roads for a report of a male driver passed out behind the wheel of a white sedan. While checking the area, Officer Rushing noticed a deputy had located the sedan in the parking lot of Dollar Tree at 1330 E. Hatch Road. The deputy advised that the driver appeared intoxicated.  Driver Donald Tittsworth, 46, of Modesto, refused to cooperate with Officer Rushing’s field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

During a search of the vehicle, Officer Rushing located an open container of alcohol in the backseat. The vehicle was towed.

Tittsworth was taken to Doctors Medical Center where a blood draw was performed before he was booked for driving under the influence.
