An alleged drunken driver was arrested Saturday morning after he drew attention to himself by passing an officer in the lane next to him while driving erratically.
A Ceres patrol officer was driving on rain-slickened Hatch Road at 7:26 a.m. when Francisco Maldonado, 51, of Modesto, sped by. Maldonado was stopped and appeared to be intoxicated.
The driver blew a 0.14 Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) reading. In California it's illegal to drive a car with a .08 percent BAC.
Maldonado was charged with DUI.
