A male and female were arrested Tuesday, June 17 for committing burglaries and at least one robbery in Ceres.

At 7:25 p.m. a resident of the 700 block of Grand Central Drive reported that two persons tried to rob him of a generator at knifepoint while he was inside his garage. The two ran from the scene. Working on descriptions, Officer Ross Bays and new Reserve Officer Eric Gallegos tracked down the pair, spotting them as they were walking through a yard in 900 block of Richland Avenue. The pair tried to walk into a house but the door was locked.

The suspects were identified as Miguel Guzman, 31, and Christina Vazquez, 29, both of Modesto. Vasquez initially lied about her identity until the name she gave police had a warrant attached to it. The suspects admitted to committing other burglaries in the area.

Both face charges of burglary and one count of robbery.
