Police arrested a 41-year-old man last week for a spousal abuse warrant when police were called after he defied orders to quit pushing a shopping cart away from a Hatch Road shopping center.

At 1:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21 Officer Jon Vera was dispatched to Cost Less Foods regarding a male rolling a cart away from the business and refusing to return it. Joseph Lee Hunt, 41, of Modesto was found with the cart behind Rico’s Pizza. He was found to have an active spousal abuse warrant for his arrest out of the Modesto Police Department and arrested. The shopping cart, which Hunt was using to transport his clothing and other personal items, was returned to Cost Less Foods.
