After a brief police pursuit, a 20-year-old Modesto woman was arrested late Sunday in Ceres for being under the influence and two other charges.

At 11:45 p.m., Officer Mike Vierra was patrolling northbound on Crows Landing approaching Imperial Avenue when a silver Ford made a U-turn in front of him with inoperable tail lights. Officer Vierra tried stopping the vehicle but driver Jazmen Rubalcaba, 20, of Modesto, refused to yield.

Rubalcaba led Ceres Police in a short pursuit which concluded in an alley after Rubalcaba collided into a fence. She was arrested and during the contact, officers noticed she appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage/or drugs. Rubalcaba was also driving without a license. Rubalcaba was later booked for evading police, DUI and driving without a license.
