At least five drivers were arrested for drunk driving in Ceres over the Labor Day weekend.

At 7:55 p.m. on Friday, Police stopped Francisco Ontiveros, 45, of Modesto, at Nadine and Richland and gave him a field sobriety test. He agreed to give a breath sample which registered over double the legal limit. Ontiveros went to jail for DUI and driving without a license.

On Saturday morning at 2:51 a.m., Daniel Pulido, 23, of Modesto, drove into the drive-thru lane of McDonald's at Hatch and Herndon roads and passed out behind the wheel drunk. Pulido was asked to blow into the breathalyzer and found with a blood alcohol content of 0.20, almost triple the legal limit. Pulido was arrested and booked.

At 9:28 p.m. Saturday a patrol officer pulled over Margarito Ortiz, 44, of Modesto, at Whitmore Avenue and Crows Landing Road and arrested him for DUI. A breath sample indicated that Ortiz was double the legal limit for alcoholic intake.

Jesus Velazquez, 35, of Ceres, was arrested for DUI during a 7:44 p.m. traffic stop in the 1500 block of Richland Avenue. He allegedly resisted arrest and made threats to kill the officer, two additional charges to the DUI. Velazquez was taken to a local hospital for a blood sample to be used in court.

The final DUI arrest of the weekend occurred when Kansas resident Driver Neal Eisenbeis, 32, was found to be intoxicated behind the wheel at Whitmore and Central avenues during a Sunday stop at 9:25 p.m. Police made the stop because Eisenbeis was driving without his headlights on.
