Fourth DUI arrest for driver
Ceres Cop Car

A 55-year-old Ceres man was arrested for felony drunken driving Dec. 22 after he crashed into a cinder block wall.

Robert Miller, 55, of Ceres, racked up three prior DUI convictions on his driving record within the past 10 years.

The crash occurred at 6:27 a.m. when a grey 2004 Dodge Ram pickup being driven by Miller northbound on Richland Avenue drifted and struck the cement cinder block wall in the front of a home at 1628 Richland Ave. The pickup continued on and struck a chain-link fence at 1624 Richland Ave. The vehicle came to rest in the roadway blocking the northbound lanes with a broken axle and tire missing.

Miller was sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle, which was still running as officers arrived.

Miller complained of pain and was treated at a local hospital and arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of prescription medication.
