GUN-TOTING GANG MEMBER ARRESTED IN PARK

A 19-year-old Ceres man alleged to be a gang member was arrested in Don Pedro Park Friday evening after police found a loaded gun on him.

At 11:12 p.m., Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling Don Pedro Park at 3630 Blaker Road when he saw several persons in the park after hours, which is in violation of the Ceres Municipal Code. In his contact with the individuals, Ayden Duran, 19, of Ceres, revealed he had a loaded, semi-automatic pistol in his waistband.

Duran was arrested on charges of being a gang member in possession of a loaded firearm, carrying a loaded handgun not registered to him, possession of a high-capacity magazine and participation in a criminal street gang.

MAN WITH DRUG ARREST WARRANT LIES ABOUT NAME

A 44-year-old Ceres man was arrested in a Tuesday morning, April 21 traffic stop after he gave the officer a fake name probably because he was wanted on drug charges,

At 12:27 a.m., Officer Romy McClain was patrolling the area of Whitmore Avenue and Morgan Road when he pulled over a Toyota Rav4, for vehicle code violations. One of the occupants, Edward Gerlach, provided a false name belonging to someone else but a records check confirmed a felony warrant for his arrest related to drug charges and a misdemeanor warrant for fleeing from police in a vehicle.

Gerlach was arrested for the warrants and new charges if impersonating another person. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

BIKE STOP NETS ARREST OF MAN FAILING TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER

A 52-year-old Modesto man riding a bicycle and stopped for vehicle code violations ended up going to jail for a felony warrant related to failing to register as a sex offender.

The arrest of Anthony Rael came Monday morning during a 12:08 a.m. traffic stop made by Ceres Police Officer Isaac Carter in the 1800 block of Moffett Road.

Rael was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
