Gunshot victim in Keyes uncooperative

Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department investigators are looking into the shooting of a young Hispanic male in Keyes Wednesday evening.

Two rounds struck the victim in the upper body but appeared to be non-life-threatening, said Department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.

The shooting, which was reported after 5:30 p.m., occurred in the alleyway between 9th and 10th streets south of Maud Avenue.

The victim was uncooperative with deputies and provided no information on the suspect, said Bejaran. He said there is no suspect information.

Specifics on the victim's age and name were not available as a press time.
