Los Banos woman arrested for theft after fighting officer

Ceres Police arrested Tabrina Paredez, 32, of Los Banos, after she was seen stealing wheel chocks from Blue Diamond Auto Sales on Mitchell Road Monday afternoon.

Officer Scott Faure was dispatched to the car lot at 4:24 p.m. regarding theft and trespassing. Paredez was pushing a shopping cart on the property and had placed a set of wheel chocks from the dealership in the cart, which belonged to another shopping district.

Paredez refused to give her name to the officer and became verbally aggressive. She began to walk away was told that she was not free to leave. As the officer attempted to place her in handcuffs, Paredez pulled away, striking him in the forehead.  During the ensuing struggle, Paredez scratched Officer Faure’s face. He was able to get Paredez into handcuffs with the assistance of Officer Alex Ochoa. Paredez faces charges of theft and resisting arrest.
