A 25-year-old Ceres man was arrested Christmas evening after allegedly punching a woman in the face numerous times during a family fight.

Police received a 9-1-1 call at 9:28 p.m. from a home in the 1900 block of Jewel Street regarding a man and woman fighting in the street. As officers rolled to the scene, a caller said the man was pulling the woman into the house by the hair. Officers gained entry through the front door and found the victim with several injuries to her face. A witness said Cody Greenwood, 25, of Ceres, had slugged the victim numerous times.

Greenwood was arrested for domestic violence.
