A 19-year-old Escalon teen was arrested Thursday morning on a warrant after police investigated a domestic argument involving him.

Police were called to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Darrah Street at 8:44 a.m. for an argument between a male and female. The caller said the man was possibly armed with a handgun. Officers were on the way when they saw Jaime Ornelas, 19, of Escalon, run down the alley between Darrah and Sequoia streets. Officer Miguel Villalobos saw Ornelas jump the fence into the front yard of a residence in the 1900 block of Sequoia Street. He was detained because of a warrant issued for his arrest.

Officers searched the area but did not find any firearm, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. James Yandell.

That evening police responded to a second domestic argument which resulted in yet another warrant arrest. At 10:15 p.m., Officer Jon Vera was dispatched to a home in the 2800 block of 10th Street regarding a fight between a man and woman. Officer Vera found both subjects in front of the home and learned that Stephanie Zarate, 25, of Ceres, had a felony warrant for her arrest. She was booked into the Public Safety Center.
