A man who was showing off for a passenger by spinning donuts ended up crashing his red Chevy Silverado pickup on Wednesday morning, April 22 and being arrested for drunken driving.

Anthony de la Torre, 34, of Modesto, was allegedly spinning donuts at 12:22 a.m. when he crashed into a fence at 1628 Nadine Avenue and became stuck. De la Torre told police that he was on his way home from visiting family members and wanted to show off for a friend, a passenger in the truck. After crashing the truck he told his friend to leave to avoid problems.

Police detected the odor of alcohol on de la Torre's breath and gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed. De la Torre, who was arrested for DUI, was not injured and refused medical attention.
