Man arrested for setting fire to dumpster

A 26-year-old Modesto man who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, was picked up by Ceres Police on Wednesday evening, May 3 after he allegedly set trash on fire within a dumpster.

    Ceres Police Sergeant Vince Hooper was out on patrol at 10:50 p.m. when he saw smoke coming from the rear of the Dollar Tree in the 1300 block of Hatch Road. He investigated and saw Cesar Osorio-Cabrales, 26, of Modesto leaping out of a large metal dumpster of which its contents were burning. 

    Osorio-Cabrales was found to have a felony warrant for burglary and a misdemeanor warrant for theft. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

    He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for arson, possession of drug paraphernalia and the two outstanding warrants.
