Man arrested for stealing packages from Ceres porches

Samuel Fernandez, seen stealing packages in the 3400 block of Moonview Drive in Ceres, was arrested in Modesto by Ceres Police who served a search warrant on his house. Stolen goods were found and returned to their rightful owners.

A citizen’s tip led to the Thursday arrest of a 36-year-old man who was stealing packages from front porches in Ceres and elsewhere in Stanislaus County.

Samuel Fernandez was observed stealing packages in the 3400 block of Moonview Drive in Ceres. A citizen reported him at 2:43 p.m.

Ceres Police Department investigated and found the suspect at his home in the 400 block of Chamise Drive in Modesto. Ceres Police Officers served a search warrant and arrested Fernandez as well as seized evidence related to the Ceres theft along with additional items he took in the region.

Fernandez was arrested for theft, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, and a violation of probation. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
