Police arrested a 51-year-old man who they say used a crutch to assault another man at Rico’s Pizza on Hatch Road on Monday evening.

Officers were dispatched to Rico’s at 6:52 p.m. and found Earnest Witt, 51, holding a crutch. Witnesses reported Witt began calling the victim obscene racial names and began hitting him with the crutch. The victim complained of pain to the wrist, had discolorations and swelling. He was seen by paramedics and transported to an area hospital for further treatment. 

Witt was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
