A 38-year-old man faces a number of gun and drug charges after his vehicle was stopped early Tuesday and he gave a fake name to police.

At 2:17 a.m., Officer Jose Andrade stopped a gold-colored Cadillac Escalade for some of lights that were not working. Officer Andrade spoke to driver Hector Zuniga Franco, 38, who originally gave a fake name which was discovered shortly thereafter.

Franco was detained, and a search of the SUV turned up drug paraphernalia and a concealed loaded shotgun. Franco was arrested and booked into jail at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of having a concealed firearm within a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, giving a false identity to a peace officer, and having a concealed unregistered firearm.
