A 35-year-old Salida man was arrested in the 3100 block of Whitmore Avenue after he was loitering around a closed business and riding on a child’s size BMX style bike.

Officer Eric Souza was on patrol at 8:20 a.m. Saturday and considered the actions of Matthew Lomauhie to be suspicious and watched him. He reemerged from behind a building and was now walking. When Officer Souza asked Lomauhie where the bike went, he denied having a bike, later said he threw it away but refused to indicate where. Lomauhie was arrested and later booked on a warrant for methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia charges.
