Man pistol-whipped in home invasion
Ceres Cop Car

Ceres Police detectives are hoping the public comes forward with information leading to the arrest of two men who staged an armed home invasion in the 1700 block of Darby Lane early Saturday.

At approximately 4 a.m., the 31-year-old male homeowner called 9-1-1 to report that two suspects, judged to be Filipino, broke into the house through a bedroom window screen. The men found the victim and began pistol whipping him. The victim told police that he did not know what they wanted and had never seen them before. Police found a room had been ransacked but had not determined if anything was stolen.

The victim's neighbor reported hearing screaming and saw the two men running to a red Toyota parked at the house. He watched as the men apparently tried to find the keys to the vehicle but ran when they couldn't find them.

The suspects, who were described as Filipino men wearing brown or gray sweatshirts, were last seen running eastbound.

Officers found the set of keys in the victim's bedroom, believing that the suspects accidentally dropped them.

Anyone with information on the crime or the suspects is urged to contact Detective Danny Vierra at 538-5672.
