The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Monday evening shooting which left a 19-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers were dispatched at 9:15 p.m. to the 1700 block of Hatch Road for the gunshot wound victim who was bleeding profusely on the sidewalk. Ceres officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived. 

Because the initial investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the county, the case was turned over to the Sheriff Department for an investigation.
