Man tries running from warrant arrest

A Modestan known to have two warrants for his arrest tried to run away from a Ceres Police Officer on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 25, but was located and arrested.

At 1:06 p.m. Officer Justin Canatsy spotted Billy Ensminger, 34, of Modesto, inside a trailer park in the 1900 block Whitmore Avenue. Canatsy knew Ensminger had two warrants for his arrest and attempted to detain him but Ensminger took off running through the park. Canatsy called for assistance and additional officers responded and quickly located him.

Ensminger was booked for one felony warrant from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office with a bail of $100,500 and one misdemeanor warrant from the Stanislaus County Sheriff with a bail amount of $10,500.
