Joshua Becerra was arrested Dec. 12 after he tried to ditch Ceres Police due to having pot in his car and no license to drive.

Joshua Becerra, 20, of Modesto, was removed from his car after speeding down Whitmore Avenue last week and found with a suspended license and several large bags of unprocessed marijuana. He then was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

Officer Freddie Ortiz attempted to stop a white Toyota Prius for speeding and equipment violations on Whitmore Avenue while on patrol at 10:24 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Dec. 14.  Becerra made several attempts to evade Officer Ortiz by quickly darting into a residential neighborhood but Officer Ortiz was able to get the vehicle stopped in the 2400 block of Joy Avenue.

Becerra was ordered from his car and detained. He was arrested and booked for reckless driving, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.
