Two men were arrested on various charges as they were stopped riding in a stolen car early Thursday morning in the area of Appleton Way and Tyrus Street.
A Ceres officer stopped a four-door Honda on Rolls Royce Lane when he noticed the front license plate was missing. During the 1:54 a.m. traffic stop, passenger Juan Miguel Dimas, 25, of Modesto, began to run while driver Jorge Acosta, 30, of Modesto, stayed seated. Dimas ran right into a path of another officer in the area and was apprehended.
Dimas was charged with possession of stolen property.
Acosta was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of narcotics after a meth pipe and meth were found on him.
The rear plate of the car did not belong to the car, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber.
