Meth pipe, lie land man in jail
Ceres Cop Car

Police say that John Presell, 36, of Ceres, lied about his identity to an officer and was in possession of methamphetamine pipe during an investigation of loud music coming from his car.

On Tuesday, August 8, Officer Matt Berlier was parked at Central Avenue and Sequoia Street when he heard loud music coming from a Honda passing by. Berlier stopped the Honda and the driver initially lied about his identity because he had a warrant for his arrest. He finally admitted his real name, John Presnell. He had a felony no-bail warrant for his arrest from the Merced County Sheriff's Department.

The pipe found by Officer Berlier contained a small amount of methamphetamine. He was arrested and booked in the County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, providing false identification to a police officer and the felony warrant.
