A 39-year-old Delhi man was arrested on drug charges after an officer contacted him Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 31 about a missing front license plate on his car.

Officer Brian Petersen was leaving a call at Walmart at 3:45 p.m. when he spotted a car with a missing license plate in the parking lot which he saw earlier driving around but could not reach because of heavy traffic. Sitting in the car was Jason Casey, 39, of Delhi who was on active searchable probation. Officer Petersen searched Casey and the car and found a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. Over three pounds of marijuana was located in the trunk, some of which was packaged in numerous plastic baggies. Ammunition, which Casey is prohibited to possess as a term of his probation, was also located in the vehicle.

Casey was arrested for possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana, sales/transportation of marijuana, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.
