Jose Fuentes Huerta, 19, of Modesto faces a number of charges after he led Ceres Police on a high-speed pursuit on Christmas Eve.

Officer Aaron Pinon was patrolling eastbound Service Road near Blaker Road at 10:48 p.m. when he saw a black Honda Civic speeding westbound on Service Road.

Officer Pinon made a quick U-turn and caught up to the Honda near Service and Crows Landing roads to conduct a traffic stop but Huerta made a northbound turn onto Crows landing Road.

Officer Jon Blount had joined in the pursuit and spun out the Honda with a Pursuit Intervention Technique, known as a PIT maneuver.

Huerta was arrested at gunpoint. He faces charges of misdemeanor evading an officer, unsafe speed for conditions and driving without a license.
