Monday shooting leaves man dead on Bystrum Road

One person was killed in a Monday evening shooting that took place just outside of Ceres city limits in the 600 block of Bystrum Road.

Patrol deputies responded to the reports of a shooting at approximately 10:55 p.m. and found a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. Sheriff’s detectives are actively pursuing leads and attempting to identify next-of-kin for a death notification. The public is urged to call Detective Sulkowski at 525-7032 if they have any tips which could prove useful in the investigation.
