A motorcyclist who was speeding at approximately 80 mph and popping wheelies on Mitchell Road was the subject of a high-speed police pursuit on Friday afternoon which ended without an arrest.
A Ceres police officer saw the risky actions of the motorcyclist at 3:23 p.m. as he was speeding southbound on Mitchell Road weaving in lanes of traffic. The officer tried to stop the rider but the rider continued speeding on Mitchell, on westbound Service Road, southbound on Central Avenue and eastbound on Keyes Road. The pursuing officer lost sight of the suspect and the chase was terminated.
The rider was wearing a black helmet, a black and silver jacket and riding on a black crotch rocket style motorcycle, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry.
