A 47-year-old Oakdale man was arrested Thursday morning after he allegedly was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and drove onto a front lawn of a home in the 2300 block of Fourth Street.

Police dispatchers received a call at 8:31 a.m. about the driver of a white Dodge truck with pallets in the bed who drove into the yard while holding a beer can.

Sgt. Vince Hooper located the pickup with driver Preston Murry passed out behind the wheel. An open can of Clamato beer was between his legs. The vehicle was still running and in park.

Officer Brian Petersen had Murry perform field sobriety tests and concluded that Murry was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Murry was transported to Doctors Medical Center for an evidentiary blood draw. When Officer Miguel Vilalobos searched Murry’s pickup he found suspected crystal methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.

Murry was booked into the Public Safety Center on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.
