Benito Paramo
Benito Paramo

At 11:40 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Roeding roads when he watched Benito Paramo commit violations of the vehicle code on a Kawasaki motorcycle. The officer attempted to catch up to Paramo who then accelerated in an attempt to escape. A pursuit entered southbound Highway 99 and remained on the freeway into the Turlock area.

Once the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit was overhead to track the suspect, the officer backed off from an active pursuit. In the area of Fulkerth and Tegner roads in Turlock the helicopter crew observed Paramo stop and get off the motorcycle and run into an orchard. With the help of Turlock Police officers and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies, a perimeter was established and Paramo was captured.

He  was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of felony evading police, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license as a result of a prior DUI.
