A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after an alert police officer saw him in a stolen SUV at the gas pumps of the AM/PM in the 2300 block of Crowslanding Road.

At 4:03 a.m. Officer Eric Souza spotted a white Ford Expedition and learned that it had been stolen in Modesto on Monday. Officer Souza watched Adam Moore drive away from the gas station and followed it. He pulled Moore over at Ustick and W. Hackett roads.

Moore was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and for violating probation. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
