Police search for shooter and her car
Ceres Cop Car

Ceres Police would like to hear from anyone who may know the identity of a Caucasian woman who allegedly shot at an occupied vehicle on Sunday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Zurich Lane and Boothe Road at 4:49 p.m. for reports of occupants of one vehicle shooting at another. Officers were unable to locate either vehicle, however, the victim and his girlfriend showed up the Ceres Police Department unharmed.

The victim told officers he was leaving his home on Charlottesville Lane and started driving down Zurich when a red Ford Mustang pulled in front of him, blocking his car. He said a female driver got out and started yelling at him. At this point the victim noticed she was holding a gun and accelerated in reverse trying to get away. The suspect got back into the Mustang and chased after the car. While the victim was attempting to flee the suspect fired several times as they drove through the neighborhood. The victim was able to lose the suspect in the heavy traffic on Hatch Road, then drove to the Ceres Police Department to report the incident.

The victim said he didn't recognize the suspect, is not from the area and has no idea why the female would shoot at him. The suspect's vehicle was described as a mid-nineties red Ford Mustang with black rims.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Ceres Police Department at 535-5712.
