Ceres Police have released a photo of the at-large suspect who allegedly stabbed a woman in the back Monday afternoon while riding the Modesto Area Express (MAX) bus from Modesto into Ceres.

Police were called to the bus stop at Richland Avenue north of Hatch Road at 1:35 p.m. where a 38-year-old got off the bus, bleeding from a stab wound caused by a small bladed knife. She told police that a white man in his 50s or 60s got into an argument with her and as she stepped forward to get off the bus in Ceres stabbed her in the back. The victim said the man fled on foot north from the bus stop.

The suspect is described as standing about 5-foot-10, weighing 180 pounds with a medium build last seen wearing a gray mechanics style uniform shirt and gray pants. The subject also carried a small black tool box. He is known to ride the MAX bus frequently but his identity is unknown.
