Two men who reportedly tried to rob a man of his computer tablet and cell phone managed to escape arrest on Wednesday evening, Oct. 3.

The victim reported to police at 7:15 p.m. that he was walking on Stonum Road with the valuables when he was confronted by two males walking toward him and ordered him to give up his property. When he refused, one of the males produced a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at him. When the victim began dialing 9-1-1 the suspect with the gun said “forget this” and began walking away, with the other suspect following. The victim attempted to take photographs of the suspects, prompting them to run away. Nothing was taken from the victim.

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspects. The first suspect was described as Latino, standing 5-foot-6 and chubby, approximately 22 years old and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as a dark-skinned male, 5-foot-10 and approximately 150 pounds.
