A 52-year-old shoplifting suspect in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and wanted by the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department, was arrested Saturday evening.

At 8:35 p.m., Officer Brian Chandler reported to Cost Less Foods on Hatch Road after Anthony Treat, 52, was seen concealing items and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. Treat was detained and arrested by loss prevention officers at the store.

The items were found on Treat when he was searched by Officer Chandler.

He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance.
