Stolen pickup recovered with suspect

Ceres Police recovered a Nissan pickup taken five days earlier in Modesto and arrested its driver for auto theft on Tuesday, July 10.

At 10:36 p.m. Officer Eric Souza spotted the stolen truck as it was being driven northbound on Railroad Avenue from Collins Road. He followed it until the driver stopped at Hackett Road and Central Avenue. Additional officers arrived to conduct a high-risk car stop. Travis McCullough, 43, of Ceres, was taken into custody. He told Officer Souza that a friend gave him the truck but he could not remember the friend’s name.

McCullough was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, violating his probation and three misdemeanor warrants.
