A merchandise scanner that was taken from the 99 Cents Only store on Hatch Road was found on Jesse Gallion, 57, of Ceres, after he was stopped by an officer on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Gallion was stopped at 9:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of Hatch Road. He agreed to a search, which turned up the stolen item. Employees positively identified the item.

Gallion was booked for possession of stolen property.
