Ceres vandal
Ceres Police have a surveillance video of this suspect who vandalized a vehicle parked in a residential driveway and hope someone can help identify him.

Ceres Police are hoping the public can help them identify and arrest this man for an act of vandalism that could prove to be a hate crime.

The department has surveillance video of thesuspect who vandalized a vehicle parked in a residential driveway. The crime occurred at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 in the 900 block of Stone Springs Drive. The suspect appears to be a white man in his 20's, approximately 6 foot tall, with brown hair, facial hair, wearing a loose T-shirt and long baggy shorts. The video shows him drawing a long bladed knife before taking a rock and throwing it at the driver’s side door.  The rock bounced off and he picked it up to throw it a second time.

Because the owners of the vehicle are of Indian descent, the possibility of a hate crime is being considered.

Damage was about $570. Phone information into 538-5730.
