Suspect faces attempted robbery charges

A man who allegedly tried to steal another man’s backpack and bike in front of dd’s discounts on Hatch Road on Wednesday, Jan. 26 and then slugged him in the face, was jailed and faces three charges.

Solomona Solomona, 31, was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charged of attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime, and a violation of probation.

At 12:51 p.m. officers were called to the shopping center on the report of two men in a physical fight. The victim told them that two men tried to steal his backpack and bicycle he was riding. While fighting to prevent the theft, one of the men – later identified as Solomona – punched the victim in the face. The suspects fled from the area but a description was provided to the officers. 

Officer Kiashira Ruiz located Solomona who was positively identified.
