STOLEN VEHICLE PURSUIT ENDS IN ARREST

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a 35-year-old man who rammed a marked Ceres Police vehicle in a stolen car as they attempted to stop him on August 7.

Deputies located a stolen Chevrolet Camaro in Ceres driven by Robert Edmonson who decided to flee.

Deputies pursued his vehicle in a chase that reached speeds of over 90 mph before it ended when Edmonson rear-ended a vehicle stopped for a red light at Whitmore Avenue and Third Street. Edmonson then fled on foot into a residence, where deputies set up a perimeter and apprehended him with the assistance of canine Sulley.

Edmonson faces multiple felony charges, including assault on a peace officer, felony evading, vehicle theft, receiving a stolen vehicle, and hit-and-run causing injury.

He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on $305,000 bail.

LOITERER BUSTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

A 24-year-old Modesto man was arrested Thursday morning after he was found with narcotics.

Ceres Police Officer Alejandro Diaz Ibarra was patrolling the area of Richland Avenue and Hatch Road at 9:33 a.m. when he approached Jasnoor Singh, 24, of Modesto, who was loitering in front of a nearby business. Officer Diaz Ibarra conducted a records check on Singh and determined that he had a felony warrant for his arrest related to narcotics. Officer Diaz Ibarra also noticed a plastic baggy partially visible above his jacket pocket. It contained a white crystal-like substance suspected of being methamphetamine.

Singh was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for possession of a controlled substance and the felony warrant and was booked at the Public Safety Center.

FELONY WARRANT LANDS MAN IN JAIL

A felony arrest warrant and an encounter with a Ceres Police officer led to the arrest of a 30-year-old Delhi man on Sunday.

At approximately 5:37 p.m., Officer Miguel Diaz was patrolling the 2900 block of Whitmore Avenue when he recognized Bradley Scoville who was walking eastbound from the Taco Bell. Familiar with Scoville’s felony arrest warrant related to theft, the officer attempted to make an arrest but Scoville ran off across Mitchell Road. After a short foot pursuit Scoville was arrested near Moore Road.

He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the felony warrant as well as a parole warrant. He earned a new charge of resisting arrest.

DUI ARREST MADE IN MONDAY TRAFFIC STOP

Roberto Florezaro, 36, of Ceres was arrested during an early Monday traffic stop for vehicle code violations.

The arrest came at 12:29 a.m. after Florezaro was pulled over by Ceres Police Officer M. Diaz who was patrolling the area of Morgan and Service roads.

Florezaro exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol, which prompted a DUI investigation. Florezaro was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples that were over triple the legal limit.

Florezaro was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
