A suspicious man inside of Independence Park ran from Officer Mike Vierra Sunday morning but was apprehended and found with drugs in his backpack.

At 11:02 a.m. Vierra attempted to make contact with Dennis Fulton, 36, of Ceres, but Fulton bolted on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Vierra took custody of Fulton after he resisted and had to Taser him.

Fulton's backpack contained methamphetamine, scales and packaging material. He was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sales and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
